Auroville International USA would like to invite you to attend the AVI 2002 meeting, which will be held at from Fri July 19th through Wed July 24th at Sequoia Seminar under the giant redwoods in the hills of coastal California. We are still working on the details of the program and encourage your suggestions. At this time, we are expecting to discuss such topics as:

• The International Zone and Global Education/Exchange
• The Role of AVIs in the International Zone & the Pavilions
• Best Practices of AVI Centers, sharing with & learning from each other
• Changing Role of AVI in Light of the Internet and Time Spirit (not just fund-raisers)
• Coordination of AVI with Auroville's Outreach efforts (AVI & AV coordinating to produce timely & needed outreach materials)
• Reports of Current Activities/Trends in Auroville
• Role of Auroville's spirit in the AVI Organization
• The Tamil Villages, their inclusion in the Master Plan and their contribution to Auroville
• The influence of Auroville and Sri Aurobindo's Integral Yoga on Prominent Individuals and Developments in the West.

For the purpose of planning this event, we would like to know if you are going to attend. We realize that the cost of traveling to California, combined with the conference fees may make this meeting difficult for some to attend. With this in mind Auroville International USA has decided to subsidize the conference considerably. But, in order to plan our financial assistance, we will need to set registration deadlines in order to qualify for the subsidies, as outlined in the table below. If the fee of $300, or $60 per night with all meals is still beyond your means, please contact AVIUSA by April 15th to see if any additional funding may be available. Anyone who is able to pay the full, unsubsidized rate of $435, or $87 per day, is asked to do so in order to make additional funding available for those who cannot otherwise attend.

Rates include lodging and three meals. Please contact us if you are interested in day-use fees (offsite camping available). We will post more information on the meeting as plans develop and will also make registration forms available to those who intend to attend.
